The word “chakra” in Sanskrit translates to “wheel” or “disk,” but it refers as spiritual energy center within the human body. There are seven chakra’s in our human body. When the chakras are open and aligned, our energy is constantly free-flowing and when they are blocked it causes different types of illness both physically and mentally.

The 7 Chakras Muladhara Chakra (Root Chakra) Symbolized by a lotus with four petals and the colour pink or red, Muladhara Chakra is one of the seven primary chakras. It is located at the base of the spine, the pelvic floor. Root chakra is the driving force that gives us energy to live our daily lives and achieve physical accomplishments. Swadhishthana (Sacral Chakra) The Sacral Chakra is the second chakra in the human body. It's thought to govern how you experience sexuality, creative expression, emotions, fertility. It is located below the navel, where the perineum is. When this chakra is open the mind starts creating desires, leading to new feelings and emotions. One such strong sense is sexuality that provides for the source of creation. Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus Chakra) Located near the stomach, the Solar Plexus Chakra or the Manipura is responsible for Self Esteem and Confidence in oneself. It is emotionally associated with all the primary emotions such as Happiness, Sadness, Anger, Ego etc. Anahata Chakra (Heart Chakra) The Heart Chakra is responsible of formation of deep bonds such as Romantic and Platonic relationship. As the names suggests this Chakra is driven by unconditional love and the energy flowing through this chakra can be the prime source for the generation of the emotion Love. Vishuddha Chakra (Throat Chakra) The fifth chakra according to the Hindu tradition is the Throat Chakra or Vishuddha. Communication, Self Expression, Power of speech and ability to self truth is controlled by this chakra. Expression of emotions is controlled is by this chakra, and if blocked one can feel depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. Ajna Chakra (Third Eye Chakra) The mystical invisible eye known as the Third eye, the center of the head is where the Ajna Chakra is located. The third eye chakra is the gate to the divine power in a human body. Channeling energy into this chakra one can experience inner realms and higher spaces. An open third eye chakra gives insight and wisdom and helps deepen spiritual connections. Sahastrara Chakra (Crown Chakra) The seventh and final chakra is the Crown Chakra located at the top of the head. This chakra represents the connection with the universe. The energy channeled from the universe enters the human body through this chakra. A spiritual connection to yourself with the universe, balance and peace is acquired with cleansing this chakra.
